NOISE REDUCTION SUGGESTIONS FOR 2ND AND 3RD FLOORS

When living on the 2nd and 3rd floors in a 50-year-old building, remember that noise echoes through the tile floors. These noise reduction suggestions have been developed by residents who have experienced noise issues.

  • Put felt or rubber pads on the bottom of furniture, including chairs and table legs, to lessen the noise when furniture is moved.

  • Use small pads where cupboard doors and drawers close.

  • When in the condo, wear soft sole shoes like sneakers or slippers rather than

    heels.

  • Put soft foam type kitchen liners in all cabinets & drawers.

  • If needed, use the adjustment screw on your storm door return so the door

does not slam shut in the wind.
Your downstairs neighbors will thank you!
